Hi Maggie! If you manage to locate any of those pix Peter Parker took of Spider-Man's visit to the Iola offices in the early 90s, let me know! All the best; hope to see you at SDCC! Stephen
Hi, Maggie--I never thought I'd see the day CBG demised. But I'm glad to see what your office looks like. And I'm even gladder that you're smiling. Speaking as a "retired" (since 1997) person (who has failed retirement), let me welcome you to your new carefree life. Carefree but busy. It's carefree because any time you run up against a deadline unmet, you can mutter, "Well, tomorrow then..." Warm best regards, Bob (RC)
Maggie, Brent Frankenoff called... he wants his clean desk back when you're done with your photoshoot. He said you can have another photo taken when your's is actually cleared off.
Thanks much for your excellent run as editor of CBG. I subscribed in 1982, and kept it up for 30 years, mostly because of you and Don. I was lucky to get a few letter published also. Don was a great reviewer - he never hesitated to criticize a crummy comic, and tell us precisely why it was so bad.
I think it was the demise of Krause's Toy Shop mag that brought Antique Trader to my mail box to fill the remainder of that subscription. When I saw it this time, a chill went down my spine. Not again, and not for CBG! Crap, I'm gonna miss it. Your editorial was always my first stop. I guess I have to use this newfangled computer to read you from now on. I WILL. Short story/memory that Roy Thomas jogged out of me when we once discussed how Don and you influenced fandom. I sent you a copy of my first fanzine, Comic Heroes Revisited (circa 1962)and hoped it would be reviewed. I do not remember IF it ever got reviewed in print but I do remember the letter that Don sent me. A short note that basically told me, "you can do better". He added a few things I SHOULD do better and I never forgot that letter. He took the TIME to write a few words of encouragement to a 13 year old kid. I NEVER FORGOT the lesson Don taught me that day. Speak your mind, but be kind. I think I eventually got a little better and he was correct. My two heroes, Don and Maggie. Tell Krause Pubs that Antique Trader sucks and can NEVER replace CBG. Best Always, Bernie Bubnis
Oh my gosh! You have room! Wish I could have that much space but when I moved to my new digs 3 years ago I filled up 1200 sq. feet of space and a garage with 1/3rd of what I had in the old place! Nice to see you are well.
Well, hi, all! I'm hoping to get back to posting on this site sooner, rather than later. And you bet, Vroom! - if/when photos turn up, I'll let you know. In fact, plowing through photos is one of the (many) projects of which I am in the midst.

Now, that is a sad--but amazing--sight! How many boxes did it take?
Wow.
Starting over with a blank page - cool!
