Well, see, Harlan (Who has lost an incredible amount of weight since I saw him last: Hello, bright side of illness! I'm looking on you!) was not alone at this moment. He was, in fact, surrounded by admirers, one of whom was a child whom Harlan clearly felt needed to be amused. Suddenly, he fell to the floor. People who hadn't been watching as closely as I had been (as I viewed the world through my camera) and had not been noticing the fact that he had been striving to entertain Caroline David rallied round following what they feared was a catastrophe. (Let's start the convention by watching EMTs toting Harlan to a waiting ambulance.)

I told you before you left to tell Harlan to behave himself. Glad to see he's doing well. Have a great time.
Do you know (or can you speculate) if there's still availability for Saturday? Thinking of driving down from Minneapolis but that's a lot of miles . . .
I don't think there'd be any problem in attending the show tomorrow. I think if there were, Jon would have posted it on the convention website. (I DO think the Saturday evening banquet may be sold out. It was at one point but then they were able to add a table; nevertheless, I think there's still a banquet waiting list.)
Judging from that first pic, I thought FOR SURE that ol' Harlan was pulling a Palance for the crowd......just can't get used to the fact that it actually could have been our Harlan bitin' the dust. Gettin' TOO old sucks !
And let me note here as well as in a later post that there are apparently people pirating this photo and using it to claim that Harlan was doing pushups before the show. I hope (a) you'll read the post again, if you think that's the case and (b) convey that message to anyone who has hijacked the photo for their own purposes. I can GUARANTEE you that no pushups were performed by Harlan at this event. Geez.
